Quality Manager

Reports To: Director of Quality/Operations Manager

Job Summary:

The Quality Manager is responsible for overseeing and implementing quality assurance and control processes to ensure healthcare services, and operational processes meet or exceed standards. This role involves developing quality systems/workflows, conducting audits, leading improvement initiatives, and managing a team to achieve compliance and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

Quality Management Systems:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the organization's quality management system (Atlas/Qodex) in compliance with applicable standards.
  • Establish and review quality policies, procedures, and objectives to align with organizational goals.

Auditing and Compliance:

  • Plan and conduct internal and external audits to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Function as the primary point of contact for quality audits and reporting.
  • Monitor and analyze data from quality audits, inspections, and tests to identify trends and areas for improvement.

Process Improvement:

  • Lead quality improvement initiatives using methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement tools.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve quality issues and drive operational efficiency.

Team Leadership:

  • Manage and mentor the quality team, providing training and professional development opportunities.
  • Foster a culture of quality and accountability across the organization.

Customer and Supplier Engagement:

  • Collaborate with all vendors and onshore staff to ensure compliance, understanding and training needs are identified and communicated.
  • Address customer complaints and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Evaluate and monitor vendor performance to ensure quality improvement and reporting.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Quality Management, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in quality management or a related role, with at least 2 years in a medical healthcare leadership position.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of healthcare insurance processes and eligibility standards with both commercial and governmental payors.
  • Strong knowledge of the medical denial processes.
  • Strong knowledge of quality standards and methodologies (e.g., ISO 9001, Lean, Six Sigma).
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in quality management tools and software.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
  • Leadership and team management abilities.
  • Ability to train/communicate with all levels of the organization.

 

Certifications:

  • Certified Quality Manager (CQM), Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, or similar certifications preferred.

Work Environment:

  • This position may require occasional travel to suppliers, customers, or other company locations.
  • Standard office environment with some time spent on the production floor, depending on the industry.
