Team Lead, Revenue Cycle Operations

Job Overview:

The essential function of this position within the organization is to provide support Services to Revenue Cycle Management and all DRS staff. Additionally, incumbent will lead team trainings and mentor DRS staff. This position is responsible for conducting project reviews, working overflow accounts from any HBS client, conducting payment audits and reporting activities, providing direct and/or back-up support to all DRS staff and Revenue Cycle Manager, and performing related customer service, clerical, and administrative tasks.

Job Duties:

This list represents the essential tasks performed by the position. Employees may be assigned additional duties by management as required.

1. Lead and manage the workload of all DRS staff including

a. Assist Manager in making staffing assignments to meet workload requirements.

b. Provide technical assistance to ensure staff are performing effectively and efficiently.

c. Monitor staff productivity.

d. Research and resolve problems/issues related to staff performance.

e. Provide mentoring and support to DRS staff.

f. Lead team in various project initiatives.

g. Provide training to new staff and continued training to current staff.

h. Provide feedback of claim resolution quality to DRS.

2. Assure all office management and administrative tasks are conducted in a timely and effective manner, including:

a. Answering in-coming business calls and directing callers to the appropriate staff member and/or respond to callers request;

b. Responding to HBS hard-copy and e-mail; and

c. Completing administrative/clerical duties as necessary.

3. Conduct payment audit and reporting activities for all clients, including

a. Receive and analyze payment report(s) of client

b. Verify accuracy of payment report(s) and notify the project director or designee of any identified variance;

c. Update internal HBS system with payment information and take appropriate action to close claim; and

d. Develop and disseminate monthly payment file audit discrepancies reports.

e. Adheres to Established Productivity Measures

f. Ensures Established Collections Standards by Client are achieved monthly

4. Provide data entry support to all DRS staff, including

a. Assign accounts in HBS system to the appropriate collector;

b. Reset log-in credentials for DRS staff as needed;

c. Provide reports for Revenue Cycle Manager as needed from HBS system;

d. Respond to requests for assistance from DRS staff as necessary and appropriate.

5. Manage special projects as assigned by the Manager, including

a. Conduct project initiation account inventory reviews;

b. Develop job-aids, in-services or other supports to improve staff performance;

c. Prepare production and/or trending reports; and

d. Other duties as assigned.

6. Provide customer service, including timely response to telephone calls, e-mails, and other verbal or written correspondence.

7. Travel for business, as requested.

8. Seek technical assistance by notifying the immediate Manager of problems/issues related to collections, accounts, employees, clients, or others, as necessary and appropriate.

9. Provide technical assistance to co-workers and/or clients as requested, including providing assistance/instruction to achieve task completion.

10. Compose and proof correspondence, e-mail, documents, and other written documents.

11. Attend staff and other professional meetings, including technical or professional classes, workshop or seminars to exchange information and improve technical or professional skills.

12. Other duties as assigned

Reporting Relationships:

1. This position works under general supervision, according to established procedures; decides how and when to complete tasks, and reports major activities through periodic meetings and written reports.

2. This position reports directly to the Manager Denial Recovery Specialist and/or Revenue Cycle Manager

Job Requirements:

1. High School Diploma or equivalent.

2. Minimum 4 years of healthcare patient accounting experience.

3. 1 year prior experience as a team lead or other relevant leadership experience.

4. Excellent verbal / written communication skills.
