JOB OVERVIEW:

The essential function of this position is to sort and prepare medical records for mailing and processing as well as other clerical duties. In this position training related to the flow of medical records, files and statistics can be expected.

JOB DUTIES:

1.       Retrieves forms, records and patient letters for scanning and uploading of data to HBS system. 

2.       May photocopy records and documents for billing and/or legal services; sends and receives information via facsimile machine.

3.       Prepares documents for mailing and shipping in a timely manner.

4.       Uploads documents to appropriate payer portals

5.       Manages and tracks postal expenses for location assigned.

6.       Uploads patient medical records as requested in preparation for clinical appeal completion.

7.       Keeps supervisor informed of problems or issues; monitors supplies needed; performs other duties as assigned.

8.       Seek technical assistance by notifying the immediate supervisor of problems/issues related to collections, accounts, employees, clients, or others, as necessary and appropriate.

9.       Provide technical assistance to co-workers and/or clients as requested, including providing assistance/instruction to achieve task completion. 

10.   Compose and proof correspondence, including e-mail, letters, and other written documents.

11.   Attend staff and other professional meetings, including technical or professional classes, workshop or seminars to exchange information and improve technical or professional skills.

12.   Compiles and stores Client specific Policy and Procedures

13.   Assists with creation and development of job aids

14.   Other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

·         This position works under general supervision, according to established procedures; decides how and when to complete tasks and reports major activities through periodic meetings and written reports.

·         This position reports directly to the Director of Support Services.
